On December 20 of last year, a large crowd came to the street in front of Trump Towers to protest Presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s statements about immigrants. Trump has made disparaging remarks and false statements about both Muslim immigrants and those, Mexicans, Central and South Americans who cross the border into this country from Mexico. These remarks are particularly offensive because they were made during a presidential campaign and during televised and heavily publicized (but little criticized) Presidential Debates.
Brave New Yorkers took to the streets in front of Trump Towers, the symbol of Trumps extreme wealth, to say NO to the Trump Campaign, NO to offensive remarks about immigrants, NO to Racism and Islamophobia, NO to fascism. People came out to stand up to Trump and to mainstream media coverage of events that consistently treats immigrants and black Americans as lesser persons.
