Stand Together Against Racism & Islamophobia
Some people came together after the New Year to put out a call for Unity and Solidarity in the face rising tides of racism and Islamophobia, and a groundswell of support for unity and solidarity with the whole of humanity. With the Call published, we decided that our coalition needs a name, and so we became STARI, Stand Together Against Racism and Islamophobia.
We are an ad hoc coalition that have come together to support a campaign to call for Unity and Solidarity among all peoples everywhere to support a compassionate and just society where racism, Islamophobia and hatred in any form have no place. Each of us in our own way is working to make a world where all people of every race, religion and gender, where refugees, immigrants, and indigenous people, regardless of where they were born or where they live, are fully respected and have the means and opportunity to live and prosper in a community of good will, in justice and peace, free of hostility and oppression.
